Human Resources Assistant

 Human Resources Associate

 Reports to: Director, Benefits and Compliance          Classification: Non-Exempt 

 Hours: Full Time:  8:00AM - 5:00PM

 POSITION SUMMARY

This position will coordinate various programs and procedures by administering human resources initiatives and assisting department team members. Provides administrative support to HR and Learning & Talent teams by ensuring efficient and effective execution of assigned projects.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma with 1-3 years administrative experience
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality/protect HR/Payroll information.
  • Superior verbal/written communication and presentation skills; ability to present professional image, ability to maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar computer software experience. Previous HRIS experience preferred. Attention to detail a must; ability to work with accuracy under pressure. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are needed. 

  RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a variety of employment files, including electronic and paper files, makes copies, reviews mail and faxes for the HR department. Assist with miscellaneous projects and various other duties or tasks as assigned and/or needed.
  • Assist HR department with general human resources responsibilities including new hire orientations, new hire paperwork including I-9s, background checks and verification of employment, organizing and communicating benefits information. Update HR intranet page, assists with Safety and Wellness Programs and surveys.
  • Assist recruiting team by posting open positions on external job boards, completing interview schedule requests, candidate travel reimbursement, updating job copy, updating and maintaining applicant tracking system as needed.
  • Coordinate training programs including orientation by updating presentations, handling meeting space and audio/visual, distributing invitations, scheduling presenters, setting up the room, etc.
  • Perform benefits administration by entering data with benefits carriers and generates basic benefits and payroll reports. Assist with annual open enrollment. Provide customer service support by answering questions and directing employees to appropriate company resources for employee benefit plans such as 401(k), medical, dental, vision, etc.
