Clayton Early Learning provides national leadership to advance the field of early childhood education by researching, implementing and disseminating innovative teaching models. Join our highly-skilled team as we promote educational equity for young children through family engagement, teacher preparation, and effective early education policy. We are seeking qualified early childhood Infant/Toddler Teachers. 


Plans, organizes, implements, and delivers a preschool program based on the individual and group’s educational, intellectual, physical, social, and emotional potential of the children enrolled.  Manages the classroom environment and works with the parents directly and as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Partners with the Child Family Educator to manage classroom activities. Prepares and maintains documentation in compliance with Head Start performance standards and standard operating procedures.


  • In accordance with Early Head Start/Head Start performance standards, ACF, licensing and organization guidelines, implements an infant/toddler program based on parent input and individual children’s intellectual, physical, social and emotional needs and strengths.
  • Develops written plans for daily activities based on children’s needs and interests that stimulate learning in all developmental areas (physical, social, emotional, and intellectual) for a class of 8 children, which may include some children with disabilities.
  • Organizes classroom materials and equipment to provide a safe, supportive, age-appropriate environment for children.  Conducts an annual inventory of existing classroom materials and equipment and future needs.
  • In collaboration with Child Family Educators, conducts family conferences and home visits with each child’s family to develop rapport, advise parents of their child’s progress, and gain parental input into the child’s education plan.
  • Plans and participates in the preparation, setup, and clean up of meals and snacks.  Eats meals/snacks “family style” with the children.
  • Prepares, submits, and maintains internal and external reports/documents in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations/guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
  • Administers first aid and prepares and submits accident reports.
  • Is responsible for regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule and Clayton Educare policies.
  • Demonstrates responsible professional behavior by participating effectively within and across teams.

Minimum education: 
Teacher II: AA in ECE or 30 ECE credits, Level III Credential, 1 year exp.

Work experience in positions similar or related to this job:

  • Teacher: 1-2 years
  • Bi-lingual, fluent in English/Spanish a plus.

Additional requirements include:

  • Background check,  Physical exam and current TB test,
  • Pediatric first aid and CPR certification,
  • Valid driver’s license with evidence of auto insurance.
